WHERE TO CELEBRATE NEW YEAR’S EVE IN BARCELONA 2019-2020
The best place to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Barcelona is at the show held on Avenida María Cristina. It is the most crowded event in Barcelona, around 70,000 people gather each year to enjoy this New Year’s Eve show. At 21:30h the soundtracks begin to give life to this special day and at 23:30 begins the pre-show of 10 minutes to warm up engines and prepare for the bells, 12 grapes, 12 bells and 1 step less to receive the new year. Since 2014 the year is received in Barcelona with this spectacle of music, color and pyrotechnics in the magical fountain of Montjuic! Don’t miss this macro event! Goodbye 2019 Welcome 2020!
Before the show, you may want to choose to enjoy a special New Year’s Eve dinner in the many restaurants you will find in Barcelona or enjoy the night with the best rhythm in the nightclubs and pubs of the city:
Restaurants for New Year’s Eve in Barcelona
The New Year’s Eve dinner can be held at home or if you prefer to save hours and hours of cooking and prefer to enjoy a dinner with your friends or family here I leave you with some of my proposals to enjoy New Year’s Eve in Barcelona, bear in mind that you must make a reservation in advance. Many of the restaurants take advantage of New Year’s Eve dinner to hold a dinner with a show and subsequent party, there is nothing better to start the year than with a full belly, a few drinks and good music to move the skeleton.
Restaurants with special menu for New Year’s Eve in Barcelona:
Els Quatre Gats: in this restaurant Picasso used to spend his free time, this establishment opened its doors in 1897.
Casa Fuster: one of the city’s most emblematic and chic hotels for those looking for a delicatessen menu.
El Pla: its slogan is good food and good atmosphere if that’s what you’re looking for, don’t miss it. Vivant, with a year-end menu of 79€ in which you can taste an exquisite pica-pica with prawns, croquettes, ham, galets soup, buñelos, smoked salmon, choose a second (duck confit or cod confit), dessert, nougat, wines, cava and cotillón.
A little more glamour? There is no hotel in Barcelona that defines it better than the W-Barcelona, it has incredible views of the beach of Barceloneta. Here are 3 different options:
Eclipse: the disco with the best views of Barcelona, on the 26th floor of the hotel. The program is not yet available but the price is usually around 100€.
Living Room: live music performance with 2 tickets for champagne, with free access for hotel guests and 50 € for external over 18 years. Bravo24: In addition to the menu also includes access to the Living Room of the hotel with live performance. Its menu is usually around 280€pp
Restaurant Wave: If you’re looking for a touch of glamour, a special menu and super views of Barcelona’s fireworks, this is a perfect option, usually around 230€pp. Salt: this new restaurant of the hotel W is located on the terrace of the hotel. He will probably also offer a special New Year’s Eve dinner this year for a price of around 260€ pp.
So much for my advice on spending an unforgettable New Year’s Eve in Barcelona. . . Ah! And don’t forget the 3 essential for a very lucky New Year’s Eve. . .
Red lingerie: whether you are superstitious or not, starting the year with red lingerie is a custom that many make, red is a symbol of prosperity and passion, especially in relation to love. Will you find the love of your life this year?! I’m sure!
Gold in the glass of cava: once the 12 grapes are eaten it is customary to toast for this new year that begins, many superstitious people put a ring or a piece of gold inside the glass to toast, it does not cost anything and as they say will attract money and economic welfare.
Wish list: it is no longer that you are superstitious or not, to make a list of wishes and objectives is almost obligatory to face the new year with goals and illusion, there are also many who burn a list with the bad things of that year in the chimney to leave the bad things behind.
From Apartments Freser 78 in Barcelona we wish you all a Happy and prosperous year 2020!
