Free Music in the parks
Date: 05/06/2019 to 30/08/2019
The parks of Barcelona, the green spaces of Barcelona, are filled with music at sunset. The Park Güell, the Ciutadella Park, the Estació del Nord Park, the Joan Miró Park, the Barceloneta Park … up to 34 green spaces in Barcelona will be the perfect setting for classical and jazz concerts. The interpreters are young formations selected for their quality, or bands or orchestras of municipal schools. In addition, in some of the parks and gardens, guided tours are organized prior to the concerts (2 hours or 1 hour and a half before) that will allow you to know the history, biodiversity and other aspects of the green space that will surprise you. In the program you can easily discover in which spaces you can follow the guided tour, but keep in mind that places are limited (maximum 35 people) and that it is necessary to register.
The 2019 edition of Music in the Parks
This year the Music in the Parks of Barcelona cycle begins on May 31 at 9:00 pm at the Barceloneta park. The person in charge of the opening concert will be the singer and saxophonist Eva Fernández, who presents her new album “Yo pregunto”, a selection of poems by Pizarnik, Storni, Costafreda and Cortázar, played by Fernández and guitarist Josep Munar. Both will be accompanied in their concert by Enric Fuster on drums. Before the concert you can visit the La Fàbrica del Sol (Factory of the Sun, which sounds good), the reference equipment of Barcelona whose mission is to extend the culture of sustainability throughout the city.
The closing concert of Music in the Parks will be held in the most emblematic park in Barcelona, Park Güell, on August 30 at 9:00 p.m. There we can enjoy the music of WOM’S Collective, a proposal led by the drummer and composer Laia Fortià and the singer, pianist and composer Clara Luna. This group aims to unite female musical talent.
The 2019 edition will allow us to see a new park in Barcelona, Glòries, which will host two concerts. Almost all concerts are held at 9:00 p.m. but some start at 8:00 p.m
