Since when is strolling through a trade show comparable to a trip, to travel through landscapes, or to immerse oneself in the essence of places?
Barcelona Wine Week bets on an experiential proposal, where the wine, the land, the wineries, the histories and the singularities of each place and harvest are the protagonists of this unique and disruptive event. An event that will make known the great territorial diversity of the wine heritage. Spanish and help in the international market.
BWW is the new sectorial experience organised by Alimentaria Exhibitions, and that will take place from February 3 to 5, 2020 at Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuic venue.
The First edition of Barcelona Wine Week (BWW) is held at the Montjuïc de Fira site in Barcelona. About 550 companies will participate in the fair, in which 40 Spanish Appellations of Origin (DO) will be represented. The objective of the BWW is to become the largest Spanish wine platform, so that international operators can learn about the extensive offer of wines from practically all autonomous communities. The priority of the Barcelona Wine Week is to increase business opportunities, as the exhibiting companies will be able to establish numerous contacts with foreign wine buyers (importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers …).
The areas of the Barcelona Wine Week
The exhibition space is organized into two main areas: the main one, BWW Lands, which brings together wineries by Designations of Origin and other quality labels, and organic and biodynamic wines; and BWW Groups & Complements, with large groups of winemakers and companies of equipment, accessories and services oriented to the sector. The distillates in the Barcelona Cocktail Art space will also be represented.

Catalonia is the Autonomous Community with the greatest presence, followed by Castilla y León, La Rioja, Euskadi and Navarra.
It has the support of the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV) and ICEX Spain Export and Investment.
International high-level buyers: through the BWW Hosted Buyers program, the show has invited nearly 300 high-level international professionals from 50 countries considered strategic by the sector, led by the United States, Germany, China-Hong Kong, Canada, United Kingdom, Sweden, Russia, Denmark, Colombia and the Netherlands.
A great opportunity to identify new trends and projects, and enjoy original proposals linked to art, music and gastronomy.
The show has invited 1,000 national buyers through the VIP Buyers program. In total, the show plans to gather thousands of professional visitors and hold more than 5,800 B2B meetings.
A program with more than 50 activities
A complete program of activities that proposes surprising sensory experiences and promotes knowledge about wine, linking it with culture and gastronomy. In the BWW Hub space, different tasting modalities and presentations will be offered by prestigious experts such as Wine Spectator’s executive editor, Thomas Matthews; the sommeliers François Chartier and Ferran Centelles; the Master of Wine Pedro Ballesteros, the winemakers Miguel and Mireia Torres and the winemaker Antonio Flores, among others. In addition, a series of synesthetic tastings will take place at BWW Hub, whose participants can experience how music affects the taste of wine.

Barcelona Wine Week offers a restaurant area for lunch, with a proposal that enhances the Mediterranean diet and the nutritional value of wine. In Hall 8 offer a gastronomic tour of seven of the city’s most representative restaurants where you can taste six tapas and one dessert, harmonised with seven great wines.
