25th edition at 080 Recinte Moderniste de Sant Pau
February 3 to 6, 2020
25th edition of the 080 Barcelona catwalk, which will take place from 3 to 6 February at the Modernist complex of the Hospital de Sant Pau.
With an increasingly international accent, the catwalk is recovering names (Boris Bidjan Saberi, Chulaap or Yiorgos Eleftheriades) and is once again a meeting point for designers and brands: there will be Txell Miras, Menchén Tomás, Custo and also author and small format projects such as Oscarleon and Eñaut.
In tune with the panorama and the new stagings of the fashion collections, 080 also bets on the capsule presentations (Thursday) in which the projects of Lagaam, Juanjo Villalba and Alled Martínez, among others, will be presented. Within the Open Area and open to the general public is the pop-up area, where you can discover fashion brands and accessories, and also an exhibition dedicated to the designer Andrés Sardá, who recently disappeared.
Another focus of interest are the lectures and talks: the fashion-tech talk (Wednesday) will address the connections between fashion and technology. We want to be braver and braver, says Marta Coca, director of 080 Barcelona Fashion, about the next edition of the catwalk that will be held from 3 to 6 February in the modernist area of Sant Pau.
The calendar includes many new features, such as the notable presence of international firms such as the South African firm Chulaap, the Peruvian firm of Asian origin Esaú Yori (who wants to open a commercial office in Barcelona) and the New York firm Love Binetti.
In addition to Boris Bidjan Saberi, a German of Iranian origin, who parades in Paris, and who has chosen Barcelona, the city where he lives, to say goodbye to the catwalks for good.
The 080 will show a retrospective of the 11 collections with which it has paraded. The Greek Yiorgos Eleftheriades, who after several years returns to the 080, will also parade with the announcement of this renewal.
Another novelty is the so-called 080 Capsules Day, a day (it will be Thursday, February 6th) that will be reserved for designers who want to present their collections in a more artistic way, with performances instead of catwalks.
They will be Juanjo Villaba Bermúdez (a designer who previously worked in advertising), Laagam (influenced by Inés Arroyo), Las Antonias (a knitwear collective), Alled Martínez (young Catalan designer and winner of the Louis Vuitton 2018 award) and Juan Avellaneda (the designer who has given colour to men’s and women’s tailoring).
Another highlight of this edition will be the tribute to Andres Sardà, the master of lingerie, who died last September, and although Catalan, has been marching in Madrid for years. And also the return of Joaquin Verdú, who has joined the textile company Vú Barcelona, and wants to celebrate his 40 years of career at 080. Naulover, Custo Barcelona, Oscarleon, Menchén Tomás, Sonia Carrasco, Eñaut, Pablo Erroz, Lera Mamba, Designers Society, Accidental Cutting, Eikò Ai, Txell Miras and Maite by Lola Casademunt complete the calendar of this new 080 in which no prizes will be awarded to the best collections or the best emerging designer.
